Volunteer

Budget & Finance Committee

Purpose

Advises the Board on the budget, monthly finances, investments, risk management, reserves, and annual audit. Works with the Association's Treasurer and Property Management Company.

Responsibilities and Tasks

• Coordinate the budget process which includes obtaining inputs from the Board of Directors and other committees, review the baseline budget prepared by the Association's Community Manager, hold community budget meetings, and finalize the budget.

• Present a recommended budget to the Board of Directors by the deadline established in the Association's Bylaws.

• Monitor the monthly operating financial results to ensure the Association's financial transactions are handled in a timely and accurate manner consistent with generally accepted accounting principles.

• Analyze variances between the budget and actual results.

• Make recommendations about investment of Association funds.

• Offer suggestions regarding asset protection issues such as insurance and mandated levels of service.

• Maintain a schedule for reserve funding.

• Assist in the Association's annual audit review process.

Meetings

• One meeting every month. Meets every second Tuesday of the month, unless otherwise noted. Meetings dates are posted on the Association's calendar.
