Governance
Introduction
Whether you are a
resident or unit owner, understanding the governance structure is an
important part of living or owning in a condominium community. Below is an
overview of the Windsor Plaza Association's governance structure which
includes:
- Association
- Governing documents and
other applicable laws
- Board of Directors
- Committees
- Designated agents such as
the property management company
Windsor Plaza
Condominium Owners Association,
Inc.
The Association consists of all unit owners. The Association acts as an
agent for the unit owners as a group. The Association has the responsibility
of administering the Condominium, establishing the means and methods of
collecting assessments and charges, arranging for the management of the
Condominium and performing all the other acts that may be required or
permitted to be performed by the Association based on the governing
documents and applicable laws such as the
Virginia Condominium Act. The association is incorporated as a
non-stock corporation within the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The Association, owners, and residents of Windsor Plaza are governed by the

A copy of the the governing
documents is provided at the time of purchase. Unit owners are responsible
for ensuring that residents living in their unit are aware of the governing
documents as well as applicable laws.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is responsible for the administration of the
Association. This includes managing the finances and operations of the
Association. The power and duties of the Board of Directors are specified in
Article 3 of the Association's

To assist in this
responsibility, the Board of Directors uses committees and a property
management company to handle the day-to-day matters.
Committees
The Board may form committees at the pleasure of the President of the
Board of Directors. Learn more

Designated Agents
Windsor Plaza contracts with a property management company to run the
association on a daily basis. On certain matters, the Board of Directors may
delegate authority on specific matters to designated agents, such as the
property management company or general counsel for legal matters.
